LACEA BRAIN · Project

Learning behavioral and experimental economics through games

Pukllay is a joint project by Tecnológico de Monterrey and LACEA BRAIN bringing economic decisions into the classroom, with guides in Spanish, English and Portuguese.

In development

LACEA BRAIN, in partnership with Tecnológico de Monterrey through its Behavioral and Experimental Economics Research Lab (BEER Lab), is developing Pukllay to make online games available to students and instructors of behavioral and experimental economics. The name means “to play” in Quechua, the most widely spoken Indigenous language in the Americas, and reflects the project’s approach to learning through decisions and experimentation.

From decisions to discussion

Each activity will connect participants’ decisions to an economic mechanism and a guided discussion. The aim is to support concept learning and the interpretation of experimental evidence.

Instructor guides in three languages

Guides will be prepared in Spanish, English and Portuguese. They will include learning objectives, concepts, preparation, instructions, discussion questions and guidance on interpreting results.

A platform for students and instructors

Games will be organized by concept, course level and activity features. Each game will include teaching information and guides to support classroom use. The first activities are being developed.
